Your Mac comes with many built-in fonts, and you can download and install more from Apple and other sources. Before you try to fix this issue, make yourself a backup copy of all your fonts. You can remove any font that isn't required by your Mac. The downloaded font will be added to your system font repository viz Font book on Mac.
